I know its been mentioned, but check ebay. The prices your talking are over double what some custom painters will do your tins for. Its worth checking them out even though your not in the US. A little shipping might save you a thousand bucks or more.....

Any recommendations for a painter in North Carolina, or surrounding states? Cheers.

There is alot involved in custom painting. Layers of painting, taping ,and airbrushing. Some time in excess of 200 hours depending on the complexity. Then hours of wet sanding and buffing to get that professional finish. Materials usually are around 6 to 9 hundred. 1900 sounds cheap. My brother usually charges 2,200 on standard and 3,400 plus on full dressers. He also charges by the art (murals, designs ,etc.). Takes 6 to 8 weeks.

I went with Crazy Horse Painting out of Waxhaw, NC. JoAnn Bortles is a crazy talented painter. The flame job she did for me is one of a kind, and that is hard to say about flames. Reasonably priced too!

Just checked out this site, and DANG! they have some pretty wicked paint jobs. If I was looking for new paint I would definately look into these guys more.

I saw a paint job that Eddie Saunders did and it was pretty impressive. The bike owner described him as am artist. He's in Trinity, NC. Has a myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/saundersgraphics) with a phone number there.
