Default Loud Pipes

I'll ride beside you, Joe. Then you will know how loud my Basanni Road Rage pipe is. I really don't think yours can be louder than mine.

Congrats on the new bike! Like I read before on this forum, the bike is just a downpayment on the accessories. Ha ha.

I would say the 1st thing you need is to upgrade the exhaust. I went with V&H sideshots. I added Big City Thunder Monster Baffles. I wouldn't have pipes without the BCT baffles.

While you're at it, wouldn't be bad to upgrade the air cleaner. I opted for the Screamin Eagle A/C. When you do both the pipes and A/C, you need to do something with your ECM. You can either buy a tuner or you can get it flashed. The tuner is more expensive but has more flexibility for other performance-related mods down the road. For me, I went with HD's Stage 1 download because pipes & a/c are the only mods I intend to do. That saves a bit of $$.

Like others have said, forward controls are a good upgrade too.

When my bike left the dealer it had the pipes, a/c, and forward controls already installed.

Have fun!

New SB. Nice.

I did the Stage 1 A/C, Screamin Eagle Super Tuner, and a Thunderheader 1031 2 into 1 pipe. I have now switched back to the stock exhaust. After 9000 miles the Thunderheader was killing me for an everyday scooter.

My advice is to ride the bike for a little while. Do you still have your sport bike to go fast? If so, then just enjoy the smooth ride of the Street Bob. Could be just the ticket like it is. Sometimes jumping the gun on mods can have you back peddling.
Congratulations on the bike. I love my Street Bob.
I can say a set of Loner Industries 2" risers are a nice add-on.

I agree with waiting until you get a full feel for the Bob. I had to play with the ergonomics. Had my stock seat fixed up by Mean City Cycle, felt OK for a while, now I have a Corbin Seat on it. Had to put 4" pull back risers. Now it feels perfect even for full day rides.

I had the dealer put on a high flow air cleaner, performance pipes and race mapping. Now I can get speeding tickets easier, but my gas mileage and therefore my range was cut sharply. I regret that.

Bags. They might not look cool, but at least you don't have to carry your stuff inside your t-shirt.

Welcome once again. My.02 exhaust high flow a/c with some fuel management. Also I'd loose all the reflectors, gives it a cleaner look. Next I'd lower it a tad so the rear fender hugs the tire (very sexy) . From there it just goes on and on and on. You'll have plenty of inspiration and soon, many "gotta have it's" if you hang out on this forum long enough. Also, Artillery guys are ok in my book despite what everyone else says...kidding dude.

My stock tires were lousy!!!

1:Tires

Not sure what your stock rubber is, I had fairly hard compound tires from the showroom. I would put a SE 180 on the rear and the matching SE tire on the front. Made all the difference in the world for my riding experience.

2:Engine Stage 1
New AC, pipes and PC5, or other fuel management system is essential in my opinion.(highly recommend going through Fuel moto, (forum sponsor), they will send you a map tailored to your pipe, ac combo, no need for dyno tune.

3:Happy Pad!
Picking a seat is going to give you a challenge. Lots of guys go with the lepera bare bones and or the mustang vintage solo. I have both and love them for different reasons.

I would also take the advice and just ride the hell out of it before dropping too much cash.

After that go for broke with the style factor mods. It is going to be fun as hell bro!

Good luck,

Cheers,

Tom

You can change the look quite a bit by just taking stuff off of it. Stickers and reflectors go first, belt guards and horn next, turn signals and front fender if you wanna get real minimalistic. There's a really good write-up on a muffler mod for those 09+ cans that won't cost you anything either. Then move the license plate off the fender. Less than $100. Good luck and welcome to the group.
