Wondering if any of you have the Evil Apes on your Dynas. I have a 2008 Sportster I'm planning to put the Evil Apes on. I'm in Korea now, but when I get back to the states next year, I'm planning to upgrade to a Dyna (2010 or 2011 Wide Glide or Street Bob).
If and when I upgrade my scoot, I'd like to transfer the Evil Apes to the new bike. I sent an e-mail to Carlini and Rex responded the Evil Apes won't fit all Dynas. Main reason is the 14" black Evil Apes I want to get are 1.25" diameter, but are stepped to 1" at the riser. Rex noted the Wide Glide comes with a set of 1.25" risers that wouldn't work with the 1" stepped Evil Apes.
Is it possible to replace the risers to accomodate 1" stepped risers? Which Dynas have 1" risers and which have 1.25" (or other size) risers?
Would also appreciate any pictures of the Evil Apes on your Dynas. Thanks!
As long as your risers are not part of the top triple3 tree you can just get a different set of risers and top clamp to accommodate the new bars. If they are part of teh tree, you will need a new top triple tree as well.
I put on the Wild 1 Chubby Outlawz. I think I had the same situation you are talking about. The bars are 1.25" and stepped down to 1 where the clamps are. I had to lower down the fork tubes in the trees to allow putting these bars on without adding a spacer block (like from loner industries). Only dropped about a 1/4".
