Just wanted to let everyone know how great my dyna performed on my 4,000 mile trip i just returned from. A friend and I set out on our 07 and 08 dynas from Boston thru CN, PA, WV, OH, IN, IL, MO into Oklahoma then cut across to the coast thru AR, TN, NC to myrtle beach and rode up the coast thru NC, VA, MD, PA, NJ, NY, CT back to Boston. Total of 3,994 mile were done in just 9 days. We did not have one issue with our motorcycles and were comfortable the whole time. The weather was beautiful with clear skies and sunshine. I must say this is the best time of year to travel. So much foliage everywhere, and not a lot of people on the roads.

I think you meant Arkansas (AR) and not Alaska (AK)...that would have been even more miles.
Honestly, I would expect nothing to happen as the cycles are an '07 and '08 vs. say a '84. They should be made to perform.
Sounds like a great trip. I couldn't agree more with the Dyna's versatility. The rubber mounting and medium weight makes them ideal for road trips. I'm loading mine up as we speak for a quick 400 mile weekend ride from Richmond to the Outer Banks, and get the bike ready to go first thing in the morning. At least IMHO, the Dyna's get short changed when it comes to the wide variety of things they can do very well.
Yeah, you got me beat….. I did about 2,200 miles in seven days earlier this month and thought I was getting it done pretty good…… Street Bob performed very well for me with the Mustang Vintage seat making the long stretches possible….. sixth gear loves the freakin highway……just hums along at 80 effortlessly.
ya def arkansas and not alaska. we got to see a lot of great sights and enjoyed the hell out of our rides.
the most we did in one day was 720, others were 600 or less. with all the deer and animals we saw dead on the side of the rode we really didn't ride that much at night except on the longest day. plus we wanted to setup camp before it got too dark.
now i have to find enough time to go across the country and back...
