I am a longtime lurker on the HD Forums and a new member. I have a 2007 Street Bob that is basically stock with the exception of slip ons, sissy bar, passenger seat pad, highway pegs and a few pieces of chrome here and there. I am looking to do these mods soon and wanted some info, especially on the wheels and the lowering.
-I am looking to add forward controls (where is the best place to buy these? Should I just go with my Harley dealer?)
- A windshield and saddle bags. ( I want a tinted windshield that fits the bike well. Not too big and bulky looking and saddle bags that do the same)
- Wheels. (I love the look of the solid chrome rear wheel on the Duece and the front wire wheel. Is this possible to put on the Street Bob or is there an alternative. Any suggestion and pics of aftermarket setups would be greatly appreciated too. Prices if possible.)
-Lowering. (Do most people just lower the rear? Is it possible to do it without spending a ton? Any links to products would be great)
I know this is a lot to ask for a new guy but I have been racking my brain and I just can't find the info I want around here. The shops around here are useless in helping show me what is available to me and what my options are. Thanks in advance guys!
I am also looking for custom painted tins for the bike if anyone would like to sell a set. I am open to buying used parts off here if anyone wants to let me know what you have for sale that I could use on the bike. It's been stock long enough. BTW it's the silver model
The internet is a good place to start lookin for your parts, websites are practically endless for aftermarket parts, and you will be able to get a good idea of how much $$ your mods will cost you, and you can compare prices to find the better deal! Happy hunting!!!
Not trying to get someone to do all the work for me, I just thought maybe there was a well known trend on the wheel and tire setups for the Street Bob. I have been looking on here quite a bit but can't find info on what will and will not work. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
