The only mod I'm planning on is to replace the front fender with one that is skirted and actually covers the front tire. However, I'm sure I will think of something else to do in the dark days of winter.
There is a lot of things that I am planning. Chrome the front end. New Handlebars. New Head lamp. New shocks and front springs. Relocate the horn. New AC cover. Machine new brass foot pegs. Maybe a few other brass accents and possibly a tank lift (Front and Rear). This will all depend on how much money is left after Christmas and the weather as I look to ride all year. I look to do my mods when we have snow and I can't ride and since the only mod I am planning that will take any real time is the chrome plating.
A couple of weeks ago, Dr V-Twin (Drew) asked me "If I had unlimited funds, what would I do to my Dyna?" I thought long and hard and said, "Not a damn thing, I like it just the way I've got it now".
On that note, and with all the wonderful weather that this winter has in store for us in SoCal, I'm gonna ride the friggin wheels off it. I dont need to look cool, I am cool. I just wanna ride
what's everyone doin to their scoot over the next couple of months?
a big to anyone who says "riding it" haha
a few simple things for me...
progressive lowering front and rear - I did this last year; totally changed the look and handling of the bike for the better; easy mod to do too..... both ends in under an hour
wilwood mesh brake rotors p/c black front and rear - that'll be killer; you gonna change the calipers too?
horn delete and coil relocation - I just went with a nightrain horn cover and called it a day.... seemed like a lot of work to move it without much payback
some sort of baffle mod (either removing them altogether, cutting my OEM samson's in half, or going with BCT monster baffles)...... the noise police are coming...... think this one through
POST UP, *****
I'm lacing up a 21" front rim to my stock hub and going wtih the 120/70 tire. Will likely drop the front end a bit while I'm at it to keep the bike sitting level.
I'm seriously thinking of going to a 13" or 14" ape to get rid of the 2" riser extension I'm currently running - thinking of with the Paughco 13" straight apes, the Biltwell apes or the Hill Country Customs 14" narrow apes.....
I'm still torn on whether to do some more black out (rear sigs, shocks and front lowers)
Looking for pipes but the more I think about it the more I'm leaning towards keeping the stockers and Rush slip-ons I currently have. They sound good and I like the lines.
crf, i have thought about the noise issue and honestly i just don't care.
my bike is "too loud" already, and no one's had an issue yet.
are they cracking down? some say so, but if that's the case i'm already in trouble, so i'm gonna do what i want.
these are the rotors i'm putting on (furthest on the right) i think story808 over in the softail forum put them on his ride and they look sick. i'm gonna leave the calipers, i like the way they look and they're black.

I don't care either but I was commenting as I read and couldn't think of anything else to say when I got to that one

and i wish i had the money to do my rims this winter, but i'm putting most of my budget into my truck, so for now it stays 19/17.
as for the coil and the horn, the coil is gonna be hidden behind my horn cover with my sparkplug wires looking like they're coming from out of the skull.
I have a brand spanking new Street Bob. I don't even know yet where I'm going to start or what direction I'm going to lean towards. But I will have the winter months to start.
A couple to start with. But don't have anything picked out yet.
Pipes- I can't even hear the stock exhuast.

Give Samson Exhaust a try. Take a look on our web site for the best selection of pipes you will ever find. Dr. V-Twin has great prices on our products.
