This is a photo of a small wound I found in my belt early last year. I dug out a small sharp flint. You can see where the stone marked the pulley. I carried on using the bike for a year before replacing it, including riding on a 2,500 mile touring trip fully loaded (on my Glide).
I read somewhere that we should replace a belt if it is damaged close to the edge. My wound was fairly close and I decided to replace it when a crack opened up from the wound to the edge of the belt. Minor damage near the centre of the belt is said to be OK, although it is obviously wise to check it occasionally.
So IMHO you can carry on using it for a while, possibly a long time, but I suggest you try to remove the source of your damage, if it is still in there. It is probably a tiny stone, judging by the shape of the bulge.
