Like many of y'all, I've been thinking about changing out the bars on my FXDC. This is not another "how do you do it" post cause I know there's a boatload of tips when you search the subject. The interesting thing was when I went to the dealer to sit on some of the Street Bobs to get a feel for the bars, the 2011 Bob has internal wiring, and I thought they all did. The earlier years were external wiring, so I ordered a set for the 2011's. The price for the older ones was $69 vs. $101 for the new bars. Anyway, just interesting and glad I checked them out first.
I didn't know that the 2011 Bobs are internal, that's great. What's the part number? What are you going to do about the cables, wiring and brake line? Did you order the stock ones too?
Great choice in bars!
I just recently replaced my non-internal-mini-apes with internal-mini apes. I think you will enjoy the comfort and clean look of no control wires. It really is a nice addition. Ithink that mini apes look fantastic on the FXDC!

I'm going to the dealer to see about the cables, throttle lines etc. I'm thinking I can go with the stock lines off of the Street Bob, but I want to see if they are available in diamond back braided. I'll post the bar numbers and the rest after I get home tomorrow.
Are the new Streetbobs still using 1 inchers or are they 1.25 inchers?
They are 1 inch. The first set of bars I looked at were stock on the '08 Wide Glide and Street Bob, so they must have went with the internal after that. 56079-93T is the number on the older bars.

I think those are the bars I am using (56079-93T) ... when I decided to powdercoat them gloss black, I drilled them my own self and wired them internally when I reinstalled them ....
Seem to be a really good height for me ... relieved the stress in my neck, between my shoulder blades ....
I was mistaken. The bars on all the Street Bobs are wired internally. Don't know how I missed that. Anyway, all the parts are in except the clutch cable and the bars themselves. I am as excited as a kid on Christmas eve! I'll try to do a step by step photo record of the install so others might be helped.
