Bed liner spray

Bed liner spray
Im reading that a few guys have used spray on bed liner to duplicate the wrinkle engine finsh.
Has that been holding up to the engine heat?
If so I think that Im going to mask off the lower rocker on the misses Fat Bob and my FLHT and spray them black and just replace the cover with chrome. Not as nice as having both chrome pieces but less work and 1/2 the cost.

yea... i dont kno about that one. from messing around with that stuff i dont think it would hold up to the heat for to long. a buddy of mine and i painted his stuntbike with that stuff a couple of years ago and the paint bubbled from the heat and thats a water cooled bike. i also sprayed my fenders from my jeep just before the summer came out looking great but since then its faded very badly.
by the way we used the dupont brand.

It won't hold up to heat.I tried to use it on an exhaust heat shield and it bubbled up pretty quick. It's also a different color than your engine wrinkle black. It's lighter to start with and it'll fade.It works pretty good on stuff that isn't subjected to allot of heat though. I sprayed an air cleaner cover with it a couple of years ago and it still looks pretty good.I used to have a couple of fenders sprayed with it as well, I got tired of looking at those before they wore out.
