Default V&H vs Rush slip ons

Thinking about switching out the stock mufflers on my 2010 FXDC. Considering the Rush Slash Cut (1.75 or 2.00 baffles) or Vance & Hines slash cut. Thought I would get the hive's opinion. No other mods will be done at this time.

Thanks

i have the rush slash downs with 2.25 baffles on my 09 fxdc (i also did a dyno tune and air intake).

they have been on the bike for around a year, and still run and look great.
if i was going to do it all over again, i would get the same exact slip-ons, but i think i would try the 2.0 baffles to see if they are a little quieter. the folks at rush also stand behind their products and they are a good folks to deal with.

V&H slipons here....a little louder than stock at idle but make some noise with throttle. Just right for me. Throttle response ain't great but not sure if it's due to the mufflers as they've been on since new. I'm adding SE intake and tuner next month to solve that problem.

I have the Rush short slash full exhaust. got them from Phat. They look good and sound better than the slipons I had. Less than $300 to my door.

+1 on Rush and they are indeed good and helpful folks. I just put 1.75's on my 2011 FXDC and trust me, they're plenty loud. Loud is of course a relative term and the youtube demos are pretty much worthless. I love loud and at certain RPM and engine load levels the Pythons on my Fat Boy seem louder than drags (if that's possible) but I'll promise you the 1.75's are plenty loud enough.

So far no tuning or other mods and after about 50 miles the decel popping is about 99% gone and the bike runs great.

PS: around here there are so many guys running V&H whatevershots that I swear you'd think they came stock from Harley. Don't see that many with Rush's.

I had Rush slip ons w/2 inch baffles and didn't like the sound at all. Given that everyone here just raves about em I was very disappointed. The quality of the mufflers is very high, but the sound wasn't very good. Boomy and dull sounding to me. I think the V&H have more Bark to em.

Got the 1.75 Rush pipes on my FXDC. Had them for about 3 yrs. Sound great. Holding up nice. Plus you can change out the baffles to different sizes. I'm sure V&H are nice pipes too. Just never had them but they look good.

Cool Another Rusher...

Hey Dad!
Another "plus" for Rush. Installed their slash down 175s last month on my FXDF (disregard my old signature pix). Great fit and finish - install was straight forward with no surprises, and performance definitely a couple notches above the stock muffs, with no popping on decel (I added XIEDS fuel enhancers after for even better throttle response). Sound output is definitely more like Harleys are known for, but not so loud that you can easily enjoy an all-day ride. And as a previous poster has noted, you can change the internal baffles should you want to adjust the "sound quality" of your bike. Very happy with the results. Hope that helps. Peace.
