Default wide glide front end question..

if i were to pick up a set of fatbob trees...what else would be needed to complete the conversion on my front end?

i'm thinking spacers for the fender and wheel...anything else?

thanks.

+ axle

by the way, you titled this post "Wide Glide" front but then asked about Fat Bob trees, you know they are not the same right?

meant "wide glide" more as a general term...meaning making my front end wider.

i like the fatbob trees because i don't want any added rake.

just read thru your thread(s) and wish i had your machining skills man.

does you bike have 49mm tubes as thats what the fat bob trees need ! if so !
all you will probly need is a wideglide hub get it laced to your rim, axle and spacers
plus fender
but dont go by what i say, im always wrong ask my wife

all that is needed is the trees, axle, wheel/axle spacers, spacer for bake rotor and spacers for fender.

one other thing to consider is front brake spacing. when i did mine i had to originally space the rotor and the caliper in order for it to line up, but then I ended up switching to lower legs from a wide glide so i wouldn't need to space the brake. If you can not find a place to make the spacers, you could use a wide glide hub or wheel. Not a hard conversion, but just takes the right parts for it to work easily. i love the look of my fat bob trees with the 21" wide glide wheel.

are you trying for the full FB front end on your street bob? I just hit on this on the ride home tonight as something that'd be cool to do...was thinking of pricing out parts and what'd take to do this - will be interested to see what you come up with if you go through with it
