I did the correct Screamin' Eagle Stage 1 with genuine Harley-Davidson approved accessory intake, slip on mufflers, and ECM recalibration. They are a matched set for correct VE WITHOUT dyno tuning. Noticed a big change as the bike ran stronger in upper RPM range, sounded much better, and reved to 6200 RPMs. I then did the XiEDs to richen the closed loop after having correctly adjusted the VE by the SE Stage 1 ECM recalibration. Bike runs great !! Regular Stage 1 intake can be had for ~$115, Heavy Breather - ~$240, SE slip ons from Ebay ~$100 (my were new at $75 shipped), ECM recalibration ~$160 from dealer, XiEDs ~$100. My investment with HB was $585 and then I sold my OEM aircleaner and stock slip ons for $100 for a net cost of $485. Very pleased. Hope the input gives you an idea or two on how to proceed. It was a quick fix for me . When I installed it I saw a big change in the motor profromance and also I left it stock . With out any changes , because 96 big V was running hot and this install really did the trick on keeping it cooler . Then I need more power and then I went crazy on my part . But yes it worked for me .

I put a set of Xied's on my 07 SB. Screaming eagle stage 1 intake and filter along with Rush slip-on's 1.75 baffles. They did what they claimed. I took them off because I have upgraded to a retro fit Power commander so I no longer need them. I paid $100 new for the Xied's when I bought them. They are still sitting on the shelf if you are interested.

+1, they do what they claim. Well worth it for stage 1 or less! I too have replaced mine with a Power Commander so I have a set of XIEDs available.

I use XiEDS with a Big Sucker and Rush 2.25 slip ons. Runs gret once the ECM adjusts itself after about 10 miles. I need to (and recommend anyone doing this to) get it recalibrated at the dealer (or go ahead and get Power Commander, et al).
