Wide tire on WG

Anyone running the 180mm rear tire on the 06 WG?? If so, did you use the HD wide tire kit or did ya just mount up the tire? Just wondering if I can respoke the rear rim to 18" and use a 180mm Venom X tire (Avon), and not have to buy the wide tire kit. The kit just relocates the blinker wiring, not sure how the tire looks in the kit. If I stay with the 17" rear, I'm assuming the tire manu. will catch up and start making descent 17" tires.

I believe the tire kit was a clip, maybe some spacers and the tire. If yer centered already, the 180 is just a mount and spin balance away from ready.

I'm using HD's kit. It's being installed as we speak. Will have pics at the end of the week.

I had them put the 180 on my low rider a bit ago. Not sure if it's because my 160 was well past needing to be replaced but it sure looks a lot bigger to me. I like the tread design and it fills out the fender nicely. Glad i did it.

Pictures really don't do justice. I've seen a couple dynas with a wide tire kit, and it definitely looks quite a bit wider than the stock 160. Not to mention the softails with the 200. That looks especially wide.
I can't wait to get my bike back...couple more days. Bike's in the shop getting the wide tire/wheel/sprocket upgrade as we speak.
