As some of you may have read I recently purchased my first HD. As far as I know I am the second owner. I do know that the bike sat in Japan for 3 years due to not passing JCI (too loud!). The guy I got it from said he has changed all fulids and put a fresh battery in. What do I need to do to ensure that it has a long healthy life? I changed the plugs already as they were in bad shape.
Also looking for some info on the paint. I know it is an 04 with a build date of 01-04. However I havent been able to find this color scheme listed on any HD website or even any review websites. Is it a Limited Edition maybe? I have seen some for sale in a very few online ads but other than that havent learned anything about the color.
i have seen that color on the WG before... i can not recall what year though... good call replacing the plugs but to be honest tye do not look very bad

There are a couple of those running around town here locally. As for the tuning. Don't trust the ******* you bought it from. Change your oil and put synthetic in. That is what the factory calls for on all twincams. Change the primary fluid and check your primary chain adjustment. Change the transmission fluid. Check belt tension and alignment. Check your air filter and make sure it is clean. If you need to replace it buy a K&N and you can keep it forever for a little more money as it is washable. Check your brake fluid level and make sure the fluid is not cloudy or dirty. Check those plugs that you pulled and see how they are buring (although from what I can see they look pretty good). Basics. Go over evry bolt for tightness. If you find one that is loose pull it out and loc tite it.
All the suggestions from misfit are good ones. The engine oil can be either dino or synthetic. How many miles are on that machine? Is this a carb version of the 04 WG? As far as what brake fluid to use check the caps on the resevoirs and possibly verify with a Harley dealer service dept. If there is a little screw on the rear side bottom of your forks, fork oil change will be a snap. While you're at the dealership order a service manual, when you get the manual, it's time to get your hands dirty. Sharp looking bike.
Thanks guys. I won't be able to ride it until after the new year because it's not registered yet. i want to use this down time to make sure everything is in working order. Here is another pic. I thought this was cool. Not what I would have picked but cool none the less.
And all controls are Skull collection. I know some people don't like them or really consider then custom but all this was already on the bike and I like it.
