ive been looking more into getting this kit but am worried with the bored cylinders that the walls will be thin and longevity will be sacrificed. just dont want to pull the trigger on this kit if its gonna be a time bomb. any thoughts or ideas that would help me would be great. thanks.
Also check out Revolution Performance's 107" kit. My favorite indy shop has been building on this platform with great results. They are said to run cooler than any sleeved cylinder. Anyway, that's what's going on my bike now. That plus headwork, larger throttle body, larger injectors, compression releases and whatever else I decide to add. Just waiting for those heads to get back.
Go for it. I would worry more about the crank though but that wont stop me from doing this kit.
If you followed the thread in the touring section this kit is fully explained and Fuel Moto has a very good reputation and would only use top quality parts and did thorough R&D when putting this kit together. I would worry WAY more about my crank holding up than I would about the thickness of the Cylinder walls (which is thick enough and well proven).
If I didnt spen all my money on my 106 and the FM was available I would have went with this FM 107 kit. Jaime's reputation is very solid and so are the reps of his suppliers like Bob woods.I talked to the GM at my dealer about the cranks, he has only seen 4 fail since the intro of the 96 motor, I wouldnt let that hold me back.
