I have a 05 dyna and one day I was riding it and about 3 miles from my house it started to drag, like the clutches where warped. I go it home and inspectioned the clutch pack and everything was in spec, after that I took out the cams to check runout on my crank and it read .0024-.0032. According to a few people it was ok, some said it wasn't si I replaced it. I cleaned out all the passages, changed out the bearings and after all that it runs like a it's dragging but after a few short runs up and down the street it stubbled and completely die and wouldn't restart. It popped a ckp sensor code, when I took it out the bottom part of it was gone and all you can see was the bindings. Does anybody have ideas????
So.. you have pieces of the sensor housing in your crankcase now. Not having pulled mine, it looks like a plastic housing.. is that right? Regardless my first thought would be how to get the rest of the housing out of my crankcase.
I have not heard anybody mention these coming apart like that... or being damaged like that. Those look like the depth is pretty much set by the sensor's housing... so either the housing just crumbled on it's own... or something hit it... that's a scary thought.
Got any motor work you been thinking about doing? .. you may be splitting your cases soon.
