Get hold of Howard at Motorcycle Metal or Progressive Suspension. They are both site sponsors. They have everything and every answer.

An inexpensive way (that works pretty good I think) to go is HD air shocks from a touring model, I would go for the std height over the lowered ones if bottoming and load capability is an issue - more wheel travel equals less bottoming.

How does one know which touring air shocks will fit? I have a 2007 FXDC.

They all do - but the newer versions (-09 suffix) handle higher pressure. The ones you see there are 54565-09 and are standard height (12.75") long, they are 3/4" longer than the 2010 shocks but may be the same length as your 2007 but I'm not sure what length you have. I think they ride quite nice and dont cost a lot - those ones cost me $52 plus shipping and were brand new take offs...........the std height ones go dirt cheap because only Dyna and Sporty riders want them - everyone else seems to want the 11" versions.

I've read a lot of good reviews on Ricors. They look like a quality with a decent price.

Yes, HD sells a kit with the union, bracket and lines, you would also need two quick air fittings for the shocks if they dont come with any, that stuff should be about $50 but I would get some take new take offs for $50-75 rather than spend $150 for new ones and I'm not sure that price isn't for just one shock either.
