Like some people have said, the swing arm shocks kind of hint to a bent/cracked frame to me also, but it looks like a busted shock at closer inspection, like the rear end came back down after hiting a wall. The front end we know is wiped. The rims look like they might have made it. The only thing that would make this a pile of junk would be the frame being cracked. 4700 is a little much, more like 3500 sounds better to me. I think sombody in cali should go down and give it the once over for us and post the findings so sombody on here might be able to save her.
That bike looks a little better than mine(not by much tho) Mine had broken trees, bent tubes, busted lower leg, bent frame etc etc. Basically good for the motor, trans and wiring harness. My insurance company wanted 7500 to buy it back for salvage, I told them to get stuffed. 3500 for a drivetrain would be my max

Check out the tank and the entire rear end of the bike...the swing arm is done which means it took the frame out with it (at least cracked) then that leaves what..engine and tranny...hopefully the wheels aren't bent. That seems like a bit much for 4700. Hope the dude is alright.
Looks like the front wheel may have hit the front mount and driven the motor/trans backwards....

I have fixed a few salvage bikes and I can say that just about anything can be fixed FOR A PRICE! Is it worth it? this bike can be fixed BUT I don't see why you would want to spend more than its worth.UNLESS you stole one just like it and need it for the VIN.# and paper work!LOL
Yeah it is kinda depressing. That was one of the nicest riding bikes I've owned besides my old FXR. And yeah I live out in the country so my bikes dont stay clean for very long
i bought a 01 eg classic for $4300,the forks were bent, fairing was broke up,tour pak broke, and the botom frame tube was bent into the oil pan,and some minor dents/scratches. bought an inner and outer fairing for 150,left the trunk off, replaced fork tubes 50, straitened f fender, used oil pan 20,stripped bike down to bare frame and paid 170 for the tube to be cut out, evrything ligned up,and anouther tube welded in from a doner frame.put all togeather.with a new batt.,tires, some new chrome, and little stuff,i had the bike ready to ride for less then 5500..you can really be stuck with a money pit if you dont know what your doing, and if you dont do all the work your self..salvage bikes should never be that high priced..they relised people with more dollors then sense will pay it and get stuck with a pile of parts
