Some like it hard, some like it soft (saddles)
Firm saddle users, (Corbin, etc), is the saddle much firmer than stock? Soft saddle users, (Mustang, etc), are the saddles much softer than the stock?
I've ridden the pictured bike (stock seat) 9 to 10 hours a day, 12 days in a row and never got butt sore. I'm 170 with a skinny butt, and noticed some nearly purple bruises on my *** bones at trips end.
A new saddle is on the short list for this summer (want a riders backrest) and struggling with either corbin or mustang. I've got a feeling either would be ok, but would like to avoid buyers remorse due to being uncomfortable. Like the Corbin, but if firmer than stock could be a problem.
I like a firmer seat but all the Corbin seats I have tried were to hard. Mustang seats are to soft for me so I found a good compromise with C&C. It's not as firm as Corbin but is still on the firm side and also has the drivers backrest.
Buying a new seat is very difficult. What one says to you about a seat another says something different. To bad you can't test ride before you buy. I had a Mustang on my last bike and loved it. Good luck.
I have always liked the Saddleman Seat. I had a Mustang on my 06 XL883R and it was very comfortable. Lepera on My 07 FXSTC once again comfortable. Sadlleman on a 2003 VTX 1800. The best comfort of all 3 was the Saddleman. Never owned a Corbin. I just can't seem to get away from the 3 of these seats.
I am going to order the solo seat this month. I talked to a representative at Dennis Kirk. If I do not like the seat. I can return it with a full refund.

I have a C&C Fastback 2up with the gel option. Excellent back support and very comfy. I'll ride all day and have plenty of sore spots but never from the butt/backside.
I've heard a lot of good things about the C&C seats. The driver backrest sounds like a real good feature. I have a Danny Gray Badger seat and it's pretty comfortable.

Hard is one thing, think cold steel. Firm is another thing, and doesn't necessarily equal discomfort. I've had two Corbins, love them both. Firm as hell, but somehow butt discomfort becomes a nonissue. Rode many 400+ mile days on a 3500 mile trip, never an issue, never thought about it. Thought about other things, but never my ***. They don't sag, and they form to you after a while.
This is my Goldilocks and she likes it hard. No pun intended!
I had a Phantom Pad on my 03 VTX 1800C pictured with the Saddleman and no complaints. She loved to do 100 mph. She is my Midnight Juliet and only comes out for a short midnight ride.

Purchased Mustang Regal Duke Pillow #75532 for 250.00, shipped to the front door, from Dennis Kirk. Put 1000 miles on it, and I'm very pleased, wife too! It is very soft and narrow, moved me forward 2", and up 1". Wife does not slide forward on this seat.
