Hey guys - I am researching a winter project and I saw on Harley website they have a 96" to 103" conversion. I was thinking about kit# 29903-07A for my '07 lowrider. I found some older threads on here, but they didn't answer some of my questions -
1) How difficult is this to do? I guess the tank and the exhaust have to come off.
2) It probably makes sense to replace the cams at the same time. There are lots of threads on what cams to use.
3) However, should one also convert from chain drive cams to gear driven cams at the same time? I don't see that kit on H-D's website.
4) What else should be done, or is that it? I already have S-E intake and Rinehart exhaust, plus thundermax ECU.
You don't need gear drive, the new chains are working fine. A port job w/1.90 intake and any of the 555's like Wood, T-Man or Andrews would work well. It isn't that hard of a job.
