Default $27 tool box

Scored a leather toolbox, discontinued H-D P/N 64245-97 ....

Used ... but, in pretty good condition ....

I cleaned it up with some leather cleaner and a little soap and water on the plastic parts ... buffed it up with some black shoe polish on the leather ....

Only thing is ... it didn't come with the mounting bracket ...!

I sent the seller a message asking if he had the bracket ... if not, I'll have one made by a machine shop locally ....

Looks in good shape.

Where are you going to mount it?

A couple more photos ...

The instruction with a diagram and photo of the bracket is at http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...ts/-J00719.pdf

Last one of these toolboxes I saw on e-Bay went for $175 ... so, I still won't feel too bad if I have to drop a little coin to get (or make) a bracket ....

Funny thing is ... as soon as I got it cleaned up I tried putting a few of the tools I carry around in a cotton duck tool kit in my saddle bag ... none of the tools fit ... a d@mn 8" crescent doesn't fit ...! Guess I'll have to get some more tools that'll fit the toolbox ....

Still feelin' pretty good about the score ....

Sweet. Please let us know what mounts you come up with that will work on a Dyna. I have been thinking about the chrome Softail toolbox but I am not sure how to get one on.

I have a 2010 V-TWIN Manufacturing catalog that have the side mount tool box and mounting brackets. Don't know if any of those will work because they appear to all be for softails. They do have the tool box w/brackets for dynas. Hope this helps. They are on page 423 of the catalog. Sorry but I can't post any pics. Their web site is: www.VTWINMFG.com.

Hey Surfor Chop,

That's a great score at $27!

Thanks for the shout out. You post better pics of my bike than I do!

I like those toolboxes (P/N 50-2025), too ...

only thing I just noticed is that they mount a little higher than the original version (due to the passenger footpeg mount encroaching on the space above the swingarm) ....

The seller did not have the mounting bracket, so I'll have to figure out a 'work around' ...
