I don't know the exact year but in 2000 something HD added the ignition in the fork lock for all the dynas except the WG and the FXD35. But what i am looking for is to move the key from the front. I kinda don't want to put it on the dash, but i would like to have the option of running my bike w/o the key in it all the time. Kinda like the softails and the two dyna models w/o the fork ignition. The FXRS, well 84, had it under the front of the tank, always needed the key in it, some had them behind the left leg, the vrods have it under the seat on the right side and now on the right front. So, i was thinking... well i just answer my idea. I want the ignition from the 2007 vrod. It frame mounts and has the ability to leave the key out. It is also black! Sweet. Now how do i get one? Man, this might be hard!

I don't like having the key in when it is running. The first time I got gas I thought I lost the key until I noticed it on the ground.
I had a '98 Springer and all I had to do was turn the '****' and fire it up. I would like that same set-up on my Bob.

Ok street i get it now. On the frame near the front forks.

If you like the 07 VRod setup, get it and either mount and rewire it yourself,
or have someone do it for you. Should be an easy enough "switch".

Unlikely to find pix, probably not many have moved it.

I remember one guy got a switch and mounting bracket from JP Cycles and mounted it where the horn is on an 06 Dyna.
He said all he had to do was move the wires form the existing key switch to the Wide Glide type switch.
And if I remember correctly they were plugin type wires he did not have to cut or solder.
