Default RE: Relocation

Hey thanks guys. So far I am going to look at the vrod and see how it is mouted and then maybe i can transfer the design over to my bob. I don't know where i could get a ignition switch from the vrod tho. My fork lock is getting replaced soon, so i will ask if i can watch. I will study how they do it so i can later. I am guessing the dealer might be able to sell me the ignition. Next, is that 07 alarm so all i have to do is walk up to the bike and turn the switch and go. No more keys dangling and dropping out and smacking around.

Let us know how your idea works out.
The damn coke machine key is always falling out of the lock on my bike.
It kinda jumps right out of the ignition when put in the off position.
There are lots of circumstances I just want to turn the bike off, and not take
the key out (gas stops).

Good luck,

DD

A quick and easy fix is to always leave it half-way to the lock position. I've had it kick it out, too, but this trick seems to solve that problem. Working on a switch relocation now, just need some wiring diagrams to make things go a little smoother.

YA the key does fall out in the off position and it sucks to reach for. Changing it would be major. I guarantee you Harley Engineering knew that key would fall out.

Hi,on a v-rod forum,a lot of the guys have rewired for the ignition to be run thru the Run switch via a relay & the isolater to be triggered by an alarm fob, sounds like a neat idea.(I think i posted this before but it didn't grab anyones imagination).
Graham.
