Default Backup starter button

Has anyone installed one of these fail safe, backup starter buttons on their dyna? http://www.terrycomp.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProdID=126. They're running a sale, $65.00.

For that matter, has anyone had their starter button fail on them?

It looks like a pretty cool product especially for anyone looking to totally clean up their handle bars and remove all the switches.

I have one on my chopper. The whole point of it is then you don't have to run a starter relay switch. Mine was like thirty bucks though

I put one on, because my bike got stolen. Factory switch is still there, but doesn't do anything. Only bitch about it is that I can't pull in the clutch when starting it, so I HAVE To be in neutral.

I have never had a starter button fail on any of my bikes. Starters yes, starter buttons no...Looks cool but I wouldn't waste my money on it....

I always liked having it as an option but how hard would it be to get to on out bikes?

Thanks, Bob, you're probably right.

Weather sucks so no riding, and it's probably just the PMS setting in.

Obviously you have never experienced the "dreaded click". Many have and this little gadget will get you home to find why the relay isn't energizing.
Jireh has a good price on them at $9.99 (link below). I have one on both my bikes. I always use it when starting the bikes cold to get just a little more juice straight to the starter. Figured it out when stator went bad on a 3 day road trip and button on handlebar wouldn't crank the motor over when the battery was getting weak. But that "cool" lookin little button did.

Hey Lakerat. Thanks for the post. I've got a pretty big motor and a litttle more juice on cold start ups would be good. Tried your link, but it didn't work. Would you please check, I'm interested in checking it out. Thanks.

Isn't that what friends are for - a good push start down a hill and then pop the clutch???? LOL.

Try this one. Part# is 70-330 I put one on a friend's Big Dog with a big S&S that he had been having a cranking problem with. It helped, but he finally went with a Big Boar battery. After that experience, I will push start before ever doing business with them again
