Default Installing Front Turn Signals and Horn Question.

Being fairly new to Harley's, I have a lot of dumb questions. I need to install front turn signals and a horn on my 08 Bob to pass a KY inspection. I have the signals and horn. Where do the wires plug into for the signals and the horn? I did not remove any of these items, the original owner was nice enough to ship them to me... I am also planning on taking them back off once the inspection is completed. Just want to make this quick and painless.

Thanks for the help... again.

Here is a pic of the units, taken with my crackberry so the quality is not so great...

All of the wires and connectors run along the backbone to the battery fuse area. If you do not have the manual you should pick one up as it has the schematic wiring diagram which will make the job easier. On the neck of the frame there are rubber gromets which you will need to remove to look for the turn signal connectors. You might need to loosen up the tank and lift it up to get to the wires. Hopefully he left the connectors intact, if not you will need to splice the wires.

Well the horn usually goes between the V of the engine on a big rubber mount bracket adjacent to the top motor mount stablizer, unless someone has installed a traffic fan on yours. Anyhow there should be a 2 conductor wire for that.

The front turn signals can be reached by pulling out the plastic gusset insert on the bottom of the frame neck right behind the A frame and front end. Once you pull enough of the wires out to look at them you will see there will be two 3 wire AMP connectors that split off of the harness that runs up the bars. Ususally a white connector is the left signals and a black one is the right signals. You plug the wires that came with your signal bullets into the connector to match the colors going out. Usually if I remember right tab #1 is always Black, tab #2 is either Violet or Brown depending on right of left, and tab #3 are the running lights which are usually blue. If your bike has no signals it may be also missing the male AMP connector. You can buy them at the H.D. hopefully or some automotive shops. You need the 3 wire ones.

Are my eyes playing tricks on me or it looks like the bullets in your picture only have two wires. Those will only work on the rear signals. The front ones need 3 wires. (Edit later, well they will work for signals if plug into #1 and #2 but you won't have front running lites)
You said you wanted to remove them after inspection. I would not run without signals, yes they don't always look good, but what if you get caught riding home in the dark without them.

Also if you don't have a 2" tank lift it will be easier to reach the wires by sliding the tank back some. Pop the fuel pump pressure line (left side, rear of tank), wrap a towel around it when you pop it since it will spray for a second.
Then separate the fuel gauge electric connector (left side, front of tank).
You can leave the crossover tube connected (it's a pain to drain tank) . Remove your seat and pad the areas at front and rear of tank with big towels. The remove front and rear tank mount bolts and slide tank back.
