Default Will 10" Z'ed apes work

Hey I'm wanting to change out the stock mini apes that came on my FXDB with 10" Z'ed apes. Will my cables work? And if they do, will the wires be long enough to run internally? Any "good" advice will be greatly appreciated.

yes you will have to re bend the brake line, may want to solder in about an 1 to 2 in extension but may not be 100% required but that is all... is that "good advice"

Default Yup

Friggin outstanding advise sir. Sorry if I kinda sound like an ***, but new to this forum and been on many others and get answers like "I have no idea but I hate this or that". But reading thru some of the threads and it seems like not to many Debbie downers. Thanks

I was able to get 8 inch Z'd bars with 4 inch riser on with no issues. I had to "think" about how to route everything, but it all fit perfect in the end. All stock cables and wires.

First off, welcome! I can't say enough about most of the guys here and how much it has helped me.
I Did 12" Z bars on mine and didn't have to change any cables or wiring. If you're going to internally wire them I would suggest pulling the wire sleeve trough first with a pull string inside it and then push/pull the wires through. The sleeve will act like a conduit to help with the sharp bends.
Post some pics up when your done!

Default Zbars

Yep did 13" z bars internally wired on my bob didnt have any issues at all, well besides trying to route the wires through the bars, Little trick I got told about after the fact that would have saved a lot of trouble though. ball up a peice of string in the bottom of the bars where you want the wires to go and take a vaccum and suck it through tie one end to the wires and gently pull them through.
Also make sure you have protection around the wires on the sharp bends and if you can look on the inside for any sharp peices of metal from the welds or cuts dont want to have a wire short out mid ride!.

Well damn it the Z bars I was going to get were some dinged up ones from licks but I think that I was too late to cash in on that one. Now that I'm not going to get the bats at a steal then I'm considering different brands any suggestions? Licks black powder coat 10" z bars go for $119 new think that's a good deal?

I have a set of Todd's 10" Z bars in flat black for $150 shipped. They are brand new and perfect. These retail for $300 or so. PM if interested and I'll send some pics.
