Friends, to finish up my winter mods, I'm looking to remove the headlight on the Fat Bob to get it powdercoated. Is there a how-to somewhere? Obviously I can remove the bolt to the housing, but I'm looking for further instructions on how to remove the wiring.
You don't need to remove the wires from the plug itself. Just take the plastic cover off the bottom of the neck and fish out the wires. Unplug it and then pull it out the rubber grommet on the side of the neck. Pretty straight forward.
Pull back the plastic cover from under the backbone underneath the front of tank. The wires are there and you can unplug it then pull it back up through the front. I pulled the wires out of the plug to remove the bucket to get it powder coated. Easy to do. But a manual will be extremly helpful not only for this but for futrure work.
What color you going with, and how much are they charging to do it?
I'm going with a vivid/gloss black. Not sure if I'm going to do the trim rings or not. I may P/C the housing, see what it looks like, and then decide from there.
