well after looking at the other joes setups im convinced. gonna go with early model fl bags and put a brace inside. along with the ghost brackets. now i just gotta wait on uncle sam to give me my money
Bry is actually using the Police bags ... have the round 'hockey puck' latch on top and open from the center on 'outboard' hinges ....
I sometimes regret not going with the newer type bags ... because of my belief that they are more waterproof ... (I sometimes get a little water intrusion with heavy/sustained rainfall) ....
Guess it's not too late to change ... except I just got my brackets powdercoated ... think I might just replace the seals on the lids ... just try to waterproof my bags a little better ....
i use the edge brackets LOVE them... also rock FLH bags on mine... did make some fender fills as well .. of coruse with the winter make over alot is getting changed... i have heavily modded the fills and they are much cleaner now
I went with the old bubble bags and I love them. Have had alot of people say they don't like the way they look. Just go with what makes you the happiest and you won't go wrong happy hunting.
joe are the edge brackst why your bags seem so far put to the side? i like the look of the police bags and the FLH bags it will probabley just come down to what i can get a better deal on ebay. but i like them to sit closer to the fender its self

That's the price you pay for the quick detach bracket system. Mine do not hug the fender either. Another reason I'm putting a dresser rear fender on right now, so my fender will extend down the back of the bike like the bags do. Help it look a bit more in place.
well when i look at your setup it seems like the bags sit closer to the fender, i dont mid the slight space. it will really just be used when im going on a trip so i can carry some things with out wearinga backpack for a couple hours
