I found a saw blade at Lowe's that is exactly the same size as the air cleaner. I put it on there and have had several people comment on how good it looks on the bike. Best part was the cost, $12.00.
I used the diamond plate on my bike when I replaced the AC last year. First picture was last year and was roughed up to look like my paint. Didn't like the way it looked so I painted it black and sanded just the high points.
The possibilities are endless! Whatever you can cut, polish or paint! There was an earlier thread with tons of different idea's. Good luck with your choice and I'm sure it will be cool!
