I have decided that my next mod is going to be new apes. I have narrowed my search down to the chrome 12" vintage bars by Roland Sands or the 14" black bars by Road 6 Customs. I would prefer to have 14" bars in this style but can't find them in chrome so these are my two options. (I have seen the bonanza II bars and don't want to go with those)
My question is this....if I decide to go with the black bars and lowers what else would i need to change out to black to make it look good and balanced? I am not looking to spend an un-godly amount of money for black parts but if it would be within reason I can go that rought.
I have put pictures of the bikes on this forum that I draw inspiration from and a pic of my bike is in my signature...any advice would be appreciated
Glad I can provide some inspiration. I've been debating the front end since I've owned the bike. Whether I black out the trees or not. I've decided to keep the polished trees. I'm pretty happy with my balance of black and chrome. The only thing I would like to have done is get the rocker covers powdered wrinkle black (Joe aka JRK has a Dyna rocker cover exchange program any color. ) and probably a black A/C of some sort. Unfortunately I may have to wait till next winter now, but that just means more time for planning. Here's a pic of the front of my bike just in case.
Oh if I had your bike I'd probably do chrome bars and chrome lowers. If I went with black bars and black lowers I would black out the T-header and the battery box. Or black T-header and black AC. Either way I think your bike will look great.
I thought I would throw my 2 cents out there. I like lots of black with just a hint of chrome. Even black rims. Maybe a little chrome on the headlight nacell ring, chrome rocker covers and fins. The rest black. But in the end its your ride whatever feels right to you.
