Nice job finding a mount point!

My only concern would be that having them down low and behind the wheel they might get some rocks tossed into them so I would put some type of lens protection film on them.

I bet it was a heck of a lot cheaper than a pair of MotoLights, too!

Tagging for the part number. I found these LEDs for sale, maybe from someone on here...

http://www.harrisonspecialties.com/m...ory_Code=48LED

But those are $85 for two. If you found a bright set for $25 total....I'd like to know.

That looks pretty good. I would definitely like to see a nightime shot of the road ahead of the lights with the on and off.

Light info: Blazer Int. "Radiant Effects" #RE770R at O'Reilly Auto Parts.

I'll update as soon as I can re: nighttime riding.

Being new to Harleys, would you mind giving a write-up of the install? I really like this idea, anything to help you be more visable seems like a great idea...

Jim,

I like the idea and set-up. Just a heads-up: I hope you used a relay in the circuit otherwise you'll risk a switch melt down due to the high current that's running through it. Here's a wiring diagram using a relay:

Splice the wire from the switch to the low beam wire in the headlight bucket if you want the extra lights to run with the low beam.

If you want them to run with the driving lights, use the wire that feeds the driving lights (wire color to be found over here: ***Dyna Models Wiring Diagram Links Index***)

Not sure about where the OP has them mounted since they are below and behind the pegs, but some of us mounted our sigs down there with a home made bracket and they sit in front of the pegs and grinding my pegs in the turns there is no way the sigs would hit.

To the OP if that is a problem here's a couple links for the brackets most of us made for mounting lights down there. Just some 1/8 inch hardware brackets or cut it out of flat stock.

Rene- Thanks, I'll pass that info along as I'm electrically clueless, but I think everything is OK as is.

O.F.- I won't say it couldn't happen, but from eyeballing it as we put them on, it would take a bad one to get the light. By bad, I mean at least enough to fold up the peg. As you can see in the pics, his pegs aren't ground down at all after 36,000+ miles and a couple of trips to the N.C. mountains, so it would take something out of the ordinary for him to get the lights.

JaronB- Great link for the mod on the sigs (may have to borrow that one myself later on). If he finds out they are too vulnerable, we'll do something like that. Thanks.

ducwad- I was a little concerned about that, too, but we'll have to wait and see. Lens protection film might be a good idea.

JBoggs- I'll try to post a more detailed write-up with some more pics soon.

I've had crash bar mounted lights on my FXDC for well over a year. Initially I had Kuryakan
bullets, but they weren't as bright as I'd hoped nor did they have good focus.

I recently switched to larger Halogen units from Retrocycle (bottom left on this page)
http://www.retrocycle.com/CustomChro...Page_0522.html

I haven't had the opportunity to try them yet, too damn cold, but I'm hoping that they'll
do a better job.
