Tire Changing time this spring and I am wondering if changing the Contact Patch upward by changing to a 110/90/19 has been found to increase front end stability or if its a wasted effort???
I'm guessing going to 120 is out with the stock laced wheel and fender. Has anyone found that any specific brand or model of tire tends to have a wider Contact Patch for a given size? Changing out the Dunlops but no solid decision between Metzler 880's or Michelin or???
I know there have been various threads on larger tires and wheels but I'm specifically interested in modest change not forks and wheel etc......

I had just changed the front tire on my '07 Street Bob when my wife told me to trade it
because the '11 models were out. I didn't argue. (I didn't need an old bike)
Anyway, I liked the look of the bigger tire on the front of the SB and the contact patch
would have to be bigger. I went with a Dunlop D404, 110/90. I do not remember the exact width, but it was near 4.30 or so inches. I didn't know that Avon sells a 110/90x19 that is about a half inch wider than the Dunlop. When the new 'Bob needs new meat, I will go with the Avon. You can check out tire widths on the Dunlop and Avon site.
