My warranty just ran out and my plugs are **** black. It runs sluggish and I know it's probably running rich because of the smutty muffler tips. It sorta happened all at once. I havent done anything about it yet and I will change the plugs soon but it will only do it again probably.
I had installed a pair of V&H slip on mufflers (and thats all) but havent had any noticeable trouble one the way it was running. always use the same GAS BP non-ethenoil. What would the dealer useally charge to check the thing out or re-tuning it ? I havent took it to the dealer for anything sine I bought it, I did all the oil changing and small maintance.
How many miles on the plugs? You only have slip on's so there is no need to a reflash the computer or retuning, etc. I would put a fresh pair of plugs in and see how it runs first.
What year is your bike? I know your warranty just ran out, so that can mean it's some where between 2 and 7 years old. Don't know if you have injectors or carbs, a TC or an Evo... You want to take it to a dealer to just trouble shoot it, or repair it too if it needs it? Your bike has 7000 miles, when you did the 5k service, did you take care of everything listed in the service manual? The dealer will charge $350 or so for a 10k service, so anything on top of that will run you more. You might want to give the dealer a call to setup an appt. Tell them you need a firm quote for what you want done, and not to start repairs without your ok.

Thats what I needed to know and thanks for the help. I purchased the last 09 FXD the dealer had in December of 2009, about 5 days before 2010, so its still sorta young.

Did you buy the 09 new? If so, how is it that your 2 yr warranty expired? If you purchased it new in Dec 09', it should expire in Dec 11'.
