brown, i cant understand dealerships. every dealer should be on the same page, instead there just out to make some coin. if your doing just slipons you dont have to do anything else. the only reason to do the stage 1 download ( at 150 bucks ) is if you were changing the ac. this info i keep seeing over and over here on the forum.

First of all easy install just a little work taking the stock mufflers off and I believe it came with instructions. Second when I spoke with the Rush tech he said you can go up to a 2.0 baffle with no need for AC, tuner or download but he said to be safe he recommended I go with the 1.75 just to be on the safe side.Imo the 1.75s sound pretty good but the bike sounded way better when I added the AC and the fuelpak. Also the power difference is amazing

So I believe you will be safe with just the pipes and doing it your self,no need to pay for extras if your not changing the A/C

Thanks Bob. Why they put those hush pipes on from the dealership I'll never know. No one keeps them any more. Kills me. Spend all that money on a new bike you want people to know and hear you coming and going

i can't tell you how many times i listened to the sound bytes on rush's home page. the 1.75, 2.0, adn 2.25 all sounded identical to me (ended up going with the 2.25).

i guess they might be useful for tone, but as far as loud goes i dont think any .mpg is going to answer that.

Default Loudness

Does anyone know the rule of thump on loudness with baffle size? I would think the shorter the baffle the louder they would be.

Default RUSH Slip On's

It's an easy project. It took me less than a hour to make the switch on a 08 Lowrider and get the bike on the road again.

I went to a stealer to pick up the RUSH's because they had them in stock. They tried to hit me up for all kinds of extra crap (including resetting the control module) that they said I "needed" for the bike to run properly. They tried to squeeze every cent they could out of me. I didn't even bother to buy the slip ons from them.

I went directly to another honest dealer. They told me nothing additional was necessary and that the bike would run just fine with a simple muffler switch.

I made the switch. The bike runs perfectly. Maybe even a little bit better. They sound great and I get a lot of compliments. I doubt you'll have any problems.

Just working the stock mufflers side to side by hand helped in the removal and when I installed the Rush slip-ons I used never seeze, then used new clamps for easy removal later on. I also used the blue loctite on the small hold down bolts.
No leaks. Sounds great.
Saved my stock mufflers, never know if you need them.
