Default My Bike is Dead !

I just typed an entire post, and lost it out in cyberland...hopefully it won't show up as two.

My problem, I have a 2010 WG...last week I cranked it up and went about 25 miles to refuel and it wouldn't start...I had to get a jump off.
I rode it another 65 miles, shut it off...it was dead again...I couldnt even get the little engine to show up....kept messing with it, got the little engine, and it fired up....this went on all day long...I actually had to just use the key once and it started..

all week I went outside to the garage and it started everytime, even as of last night it started..
I was suppose to join a ride this morning, and got all dressed up like a snowman, go out hop on the bike....and yeah, dead again....But i still get the little engine light, at one point it almost...started....it kinda just popped once..

I have changed the battery in the FOB..and I have it charging right now..one thing I have noticed is ....I don't "hear' my bird chirp sound anymore..

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, My hubby is Over Seas and can't address the problem...Mostly wondering If any other person has had the same problem as me...

Thanks in Advance
Hunnie

Sorry I don't have any insight as to what might be wrong but it sounds like a good electrical excuse to get it to the local stealership.

Sounds like a loose electrical connection or battery ground. Get a pro to help you.

i would bet, loose battery connection... the newer dynas are notorious for the ground connection coming loose... pop the battery cover off and see if the negative cable is loose...
mine came loose once and caused all kinds of wierd starting and just shutting down problems...
whats the bird chirp sound you mentioned? you have a security system? if so, check the battery in your fob also..
good luck!

Hmmm.... I installed the security siren module and have never did have the "chirp" when arming/disarming it, but everything else works... the lights flash like they're supposed to, the ignition is cut out, it gives off warning screeches if you bump the bike, the siren wails when set off, and the "red-key" indicator on the speedo flashes like its supposed to do... never worried about the "chirping" on arm/disarm.

Anywho... I agree that it sounds like an intermittent electrical issue and the appropriate wiring may have to be "sounded out" with an ohm-meter.

If your bike is a 2010 it should still be under warranty. I would check as others have suggested your battery cables, but if that is not it call the dealer. That's warranties are for.

I agree on an electrical connection, make sure you check both ends of the negative battery cable.
You mentioned burning a hole in the harness?????

Hun, not sure how mechanically inclined you are, but if you can take off the battery cover and check the connections, that would be a start. If the problem continues and you have the directions on how to disable the alarm. Like when your fob battery dies. Try that and see if that works. It sounds like it might be on of these issues. Do you have 2 fobs? try using the other one too, if you don't know how to disable the alarm system. These would be easy starts.
