Default I am an idiot
So I did a trans fluid change a week ago and I was riding to meet some buddies today. I went outside an pulled my tran fluid dipstick out to check the level and was going to go inside and get a papertowel when the neighbor started talking to me. I finished talking to him and rode off. Well I pulle over on the highway when I remembered that I never screwed the dipstick back in. I lost the dipstick and a half quart of fluid. A thirty dollar mistake

That's not bad. About 16 years ago I was checking the water in the radiator of my truck before the wife and I went shopping and forgot to put the radiator cap back on. We have to drive 40 minutes to get to Bryan College Station where we shop. About half way there I just happen to look in my rear view mirror and noticed a lot of smoke coming from my exhaust. I pulled the truck over, lifted the hood and noticed that I did not replace the radiator cap. I had to replace the entire engine. Warped both heads and melted two pistons. You got lucky.

Yeah what he said - and I will only add to one degree or another - we're all idiots. But the difference between an idiot and a fool is at least idiots take lessons from their mistakes. I hope.
