I was referring to the 11" shocks about it not being a problem for me. I was asking if I should do the front end too or if it is okay without doing it. Like I said, I'm used to riding an old, chopped, hardtail Shovelhead so I'm used to a bit more of a rake. I was just wondering if Sumpnut had lowered his. I might just give it a try without lowering the front end and see how it handles for me. I guess I can always do the front end later if I don't like the way it rides.

Like I said it's up to you but you will notice the difference; .... for the price of a lowering kit ($70) and the 20 minutes it takes to install it I highly recommend doing it.

I lowered the front the same time with progressives drop in kit..first tried it with a 2" drop but did'nt like it..quick change to 1" and felt a lot better..that's how its staying..

So you ended up with 1" drop in the front and 1" shorter shocks? Both Progressive?

I'm kinda new to this ,so forgive me if this sounds like a stupid question but, it looks like the lowering block puts the shock on a bit more angle and kinda taking away from the natural plane it should travel in ...how is the ride quality compared to the 11 inch shock? I understand the factory shocks aren't the greatest to being with.

Yes the lowering block do angle the shocks more. The problem with that is that the stock shocks are crap really. Mine would bottom out all the time and I didn't have lowering blocks and it's a Super Glide which rides taller anyway. If you lower the back and not the front you change the rake on the bike. It will corner slower and require more effort to fall into turns. It will also increase straight line stability. Depending on your riding style one may suit you better than another.

As far as the spacers go you can have some made up from stainless steel or aluminum if you want something different. Also the '06 Super Glide came with som nice finished aluminum ones from the factory which I suppose you can order from the dealer. If it where me I would use the correct primer and rattle can the stock chrome ones.

I'm waiting on my 440 in 12.5 inches. I'll report back when I get them in a week or two
