I have a 2009 Fat Bob with Screaming Eagle pipes, and cone-shaped Screaming Eagle K&N breather. I'm tall with long legs and the current set up causes me to angle my foot in to reach rear brake pedal. Looking for something flatter that will give me the same air flow. Suggestions ??
I'm new to this ....my first Harley! Loving it so far.
If your tall and the air cleaner hits your leg, you need a seat that moves you back so your leg goes under the intake pipe. That's how mine sits and it is very comfortable. I have mid controls and highway pegs and either position is good to go.
I had the same problem. I took the foward control brake lever and bent it out some so I wasn't always rubbing my leg on the air cleaner. But here is another option.
Went thru just the same issues when I got my FB last year. Tried of couple of different A/Cs and they all stuck out too far or else they were too small to flow much air.
This is like the old HD 29008-90A kit that you can't get anymore.
This is no plug-and-play solution though. Needs some work to make it fit. The backing plate and black venturi ring is about all that's useful from the kit. I even replaced the filter with the K&N equivalent (HD-0600) though the one in the kit does fit fine. You need to get a throttle-body/carb mount bracket like the VT Manufacturing 31-0750 (https://masclassics.com//vtwin/0321.php) and some kind of breather kit, I used Krankvents though. Then you just need a suitable cover to bolt on top.
Here's how it looks:
Hopefully you can see its got a big enough area to flow well but that its slimline and doesn't even stick out as far as the exhaust heatshield.
Do you still have your stock intake? Why not just buy a stage 1 filter and remount the stock setup (or pick up another)? That's one of the reasons I kept mine.

If the OP is like me then the stock A/C sticks out too much as well.
