Do you plan to move the gauges? I suppose with two of them up there it might be difficult to find a place for them down lower without considerable time and money, but it will clean up the look.

Is it me, or do those cables need cleaned up now that the bars have been changed?

It's not just you. The cables are way too long in their current form, IMO. But if he likes 'em, it's his bike.

From what I can tell from the pics - the mods make a nice improvement!

i just ordered a small fairing like shiftace has in his sig pic.. I might have to relocate them to the onderside of the handle bar bolts(if that make any sense..) it will point them at a more horizontal angle. il have to see whether they fit with the fairing. Thanks for the input though.

how tall are those risers? if they are 6's the guages will sit above the fairing. If they are 4's I'm pretty sure they'll hit it. You can widen the holes on the bracket a little with a unibit and use spacers and longer bolts to attach the bracket to the headlight eyebrow. That tucks em away down low behind the fairing..but they can be difficult to see..My vote is go to either 6in risers or since you have plenty of cable 9 inchers would be money.

ya.. they are 4's. i really like the height that they are rt now.. (really comfortable and still has the "sporty" feel) im gonna wait to see where the fairing comes to and what needs to be done.. Everyone and their mom has 6's around my area..trying to do something different..

I'm thinking of putting 4" pull back risers on my 2010 fxdc do I need to do a tank lift? Or is more cosmetic?

A tank lift is just for looks, mainly. It did change the wind dynamics a bit (changes the head buffeting) but in no way is needed for a bar change, in fact it can cause interference issues.
