Just a thought here, but if you havent put enough miles on since the change your tuner has probably not adapted to the new pipes yet.
One of the sponsers here of HD Foruns is Fuelmoto , they have done a lot of testing using the PCV/AT and might be able to help, give them a call.
I got my Cams, PCV and Autotune from FuelMoto. I have at least 500 miles on the SE slipons so it should have tuned in by then. It is not running bad...but there is definitely a notice between what it was and what it is now... and ya don't spend $$ when you want to see a decrease
You still use the disc's with the open cap but you don't need as many. I run 18to20 closed or 12to14 with open cap. I have run 20 open and it was loud but still streetable.
You can, just not with a narrow angle VTwin. These engines are not designed to produce high amounts of horse power, they are designed to produce torque at low engine speeds. Fitting a free flow exhaust will get the last few drops of horse power out of it but this seems like putting an expensive performance suspension kit on the family truck - the cost/benefit kinda sucks. I'm not saying the VTwin engine is a bad design, just saying it is not a performance design to start with nor are most bikes it is mounted. In comparison a 600cc in line 4 will generally produces in excess of 100HP (more than a 1200cc VTwin) so will come equipped from the factory with a more free flowing exhaust because of its greater valve area - it needs to get fuel/air in and exhaust out faster than a slower revving engine.
