Just got back from the dyno and my V&H stepped drag pipes are costing me power compared to the 2" Cycle Shack 2-2's; enough that I'd like to try a 2-1; but I want something that will quiet down my 103 as well...any ideas??? How about the RB racing 2-1 quiet model; they make big claims although I know they're ugly compared to some other 2-1's.....
Might want to check out the SuperTrapp SuperMeg 2:1. I like mine and with the closed end cap I don't think they are much louder than my old SE II slip-ons.

RB Racing's "Black hole" exhaust. I have it on my Street Glide and it is absolutely fantastic in terms of performance and a lack of noise; giving plenty of thought to putting this pipe on my Street Bob as well.
I guess I'm just an old guy that prefers the "stock" look of the 2-2; can't see where a 2-1 would have helped my origional dyno with the C/S pipes. Yeah; the RB is pretty pricy allright.....
I've heard that the V&H Pro Pipe isn't overwhelmingly loud. It's the pipe I should have bought instead of the slip-ons.
I've got the new V&H Pro Pipe BP. It's a lot louder/deeper than my SE II's were. The fit, finish, and performance are real nice. At $468 shipped, the price was decent, too.
I've got a V&H Propipe on my 05 and I definitely would not call it quiet. It's signifantly louder than my SEII's were. It's reasonable at light throttle openings/loads but if you crank on it or put a load on the engine, it makes itself heard. It's not as loud as drag pipes, to be sure, but don't buy it thinking it will make your bike quiet.
I'd second the Supertrapp suggestion. I've heard a couple of those and they were definitely mellower than my Propipe.
+1 Those who say they are not obnoxious are....., well that's their opinion. They are not quiet. I have a Supertrapp on mine, a car model on a D&D 2-1 header (I had the D&D Fatcat with "quiet" baffle, the "quiet" portion is a joke. Be happy to sell you the muffler though).
