Question Getting a headache....Oil Leak +...

Okay so every time I do something on this bike something else goes wrong. lol. Damn it all, I just wanna ride! So I adjusted the clutch as instructed and now I cannot shift into neutral, not hard to find, but not at all. I light kick up from first puts me in second. I had a little leak before and now it is much worse every time I turn the bike on it happens now. Im not sure where its coming from hopefully you guys can help. I'd really hate to put it in the shop, im pretty handy but im short fused for issues like this. lol.

I did a search on older neutral problems and seen that low fluid could cause issues with shifting into neutral, so maybe this leak and the issue go hand and hand. However when I open the derby cover there is fluid in there. Oh, also when i was releasing the lock nut the clutch pack was turning with the lock nut at first. A video I watched of this adjustment showed the mans clutch stationary. Any ideas?

Looking at the picture looks like its gotta be either tranny seal leak or primary seal leak, but seeing as your having problems with finding neutral I'd lean more to primary seal leak. I think its too far back for shifter seal leak. Pull derby and check primary oil level to start with and if low you can either top it to proper level and see if it fixes your finding neutral problem ( which is what I would do ) or you can start the repair.
Are you getting any oil on your belt?

Man, it looks like that nasty scrape may have slightly warped your primary cover. Those babies will leak if you over torque or tighten in wrong sequence or fail to clean them good before bolting back on. Looks like you just removed derby so the scrape must be the culprit.

I haven't noticed any oil on the belt. It just seems to be in that one spot.

Yeah the previous owner must have dropped it because when i first got it, he had installed on it a homemade suicide shifter that during the fall got bent and put a dent in the left side of the tank.

It obviously coming out of the primary. I like to run Redline Primary fluid in the primary which is red. Redline Shockproof in the transmission which is pink and synthetic motor oil in the engine. This way, you always know by the color where your leak is coming from. I'm no smarter than the next guy ... but those Redline fluids kick *** too, they make shifting smooth as silk.

Do you have mid controls or forwards?

Looks like it could be coming from the seal behind the inner primary
