I'm considering putting a springer front end on my '07 Bob. Has anyone done this? I want to use a stock harley springer. Are the two compatible, or is there a neck difference? Or would I be better off with an aftermarket springer like a Denver's or Redneck? Any help would be appreciated!!!
Can't help with the question...but please please please post pics if you decide to do this. I LOVE springer front ends. And while I have no intention of ever replacing the front end on my DWG...I'd still love to own one one day (on a different bike of course). Personally, I think the bob would look great with a springer front end.
Good luck man.
Yes I agree! Please post pics if you do the switch! I also am ignorant on the subject but somebody on these forums photoshoped a springer on a bob and it looks sick. Good luck finding what ya need

i have asked a few people and it is definately doable. the down side is that, aside from maybe the controls, you are buying an entirely new front end...........everything must be changed from the neck forward (unless you get a narrow one and possibly reuse the wheel and tire).
i would really like to do it and i while the moco has a black unit, i think some of the aftermarket flat black units out there would like SUPER TIGHT!!
i just don't have that kind of "disposable" scratch right now. i would imagine that the whole thing would run at the very least, 3k and probably more like 5k out the door. and that's if you did some serious shopping and found some good discounts and a shop that won't bend you over.
Sure you can do it. I have not taken a Springer front off of any "new" bikes, but I can say that the bearings/neck etc etc are very similiar.
Depending on the front end you decided to use you might have to dig through some bearing catalogs to find the right size to mix the two, but I really do not see anything that would prevent you from doing this.
Personally I really like the looks, but the forks on the bob are way more tunable and soak up the hard turns much better than a springer. Have you ever ridden a springer front? They work good but there is a reason they have fallen by the wayside.
That would be a great look---so good I'll bet the HD reps that read this forum will take the idea and run with it. My bet says we'll see a springer front end on a factory bob by 09.
