Default Combination Analog Speedometer/Tachometer

Does anyone know how many hours it normally takes to install one of the combination speedomter/tachometer at a dealer? Thanks for any feedback I was just trying to make sure I get a fair install price!

about 15 minutes on the newer bikes. That is really something that pretty much anyone can do.

Pretty much plug and play. Shouldn't take long at all. What did the dealer tell you?

on the newer rides, the so called dash board, (..lol...) is held in place by two bolts, lift those up.. lift the entire dash.. flip it over, and unplug the old set, remove the retaining clip, careful not to break it...set the new one in its place, reattach clip, plug in harness. recalibrating the odometer is another matter altogether which may or may not require dealer assistance. thats one thing im not certain about.

the entire job, including a six pack should be around 30-45 minutes. 20 minutes replacing dash and odometer, and the remainder enjoying a few of the frosty goodness.

Thanks for the info! I haven't got a price yet I called the dealer I bought my bike from and spoke to them this morning. I believe they have to do some paper work for the odometer they are going to call me back with a price. I haven't been back to the dealer since I bought my bike I can't stand dealing with car lots or bike dealers! I perfer to do everything myself I can but am unsure about the odometer paperwork so if price is fair enough I will let them do this one.

I installed the digital speedo/analog tach unit (74723-10) in less than 30 minutes. Nothing to it really. Dealer had to specify the mileage to be programmed into it when ordered.

Yep. I bought the bike (2010 FXDC) and it was showing 32 miles on the odometer. They asked me how many miles I thought I'd put on it until the unit was delivered (3 weeks). I told them 200 (ha). It took 7 weeks to come in and by that time I had 1030 miles on it. The dealer said the MoCo had to program the mileage into the unit. Installing it was a breeze. Odometer showed 200 miles. It's a nice unit, but here is problem with the low fuel lamp remaining lit and the miles to empty showing low even though there is a full tank of fuel. The unit is supposed to calibrate itself after one or two tanks of fuel, but mine never has. I've posted this on several forums and nobody seems to know how to correct it. Dealer doesn't know either. I've disconnected/reconnected the battery and harness, but it didn't make any difference. Maybe someone will figure it out.

Has it ever calibrated itself yet? How much riding have you done since you installed it?
