It's time for new brake pads. I was just wondering what pads people are using, stock harley pads or after market?
I have been using EBC pads on my truck for the last few years and really like them. They have alot more stopping power than stock pads. Does anyone use the EBC pads on their bikes?
I just installed a set of Lyndall Z Plus pads. Front and Rear. I bought them from Dr. V-Twin. He is a member here.
The 2 miles I rode, they seemed to work really well. The stock pads had 11000 miles on them. The front stock pads looked thick, but when I took them off they were brittle and cracking. The rear were the same, but really wore down. They were stopping me, but it was time. Yes, I had monitored them during maintenance intervals.
EBC double H sintered, I use them front and back, they provide about 20% more bite than the stockers and don't do any damage to the rotors. They are about $30 to 35 a set from Amazon.
I just ordered some EBC Organic Kevlars. Word is this "feel" and perform very well without being tough on the rotors or making brake dust. Down side is they wear quicker than metallic pads. For the cost, I think I can afford to change them as needed if they perform like I hear they will.
