Chopped Dyna
It's been awhile since I checked in and posted any progress on my Wide glide.
The name of the bike is, "RECONCILE".
This bike started out as a perfectly good 1997 FXDWG.
It's easy to build a cookie cutter rigid or softail...(been there...done that....actually still doing that...(laughing.)
But it is a major pain in the *** to chop a dyna to this level.....(Who would want too...?)
I started by stretching and raking the frame to a respectable 4 up 2 out w/ 38 degrees in the neck.
I cut out the seat pan and lowered it about two inches...(not easy)
Hand made fuel tanks, rear fender and tail section.
PM hand controls....outlaw forward controls....
5.5" x 18" fat spoked rear rim w/ a 180 tire. I was able to use an offset sprocket and chain conversion....w/ out the need for any offset in the primary or swingarm modifications...(that was my goal because it keeps the weight evenly centered...and it's a heck of a lot cheaper....though I plan on blowing the savings anyway with the new BDL open primary.....)
Hand made exaust / cans / baffles / and custom machined brackets....
I went with a six over DNA springer up front and low progressive shocks in rear....
Due to the slow economy I had to shelf the bike for about three years...but I'm working my butt off right now to finish it up. (I hope the be in the bike total for under 11k...which includes the cost of the bike... when it's all said and done.)
I'm hoping to have it mocked up and ready for tear down by the end of the week....
