Default Fork bag users beware

I have been using a leather fork bag on top of my headlight for about 6 months now without taking it off....pulled it off for some paint work, and you would not believe how bad the paint on my headlight housing looks. Rubbed all the clear off, scuffed it up bad. This may be a no brainer, but i thought I should give a heads up!

I've come to the conclusion those fork bags will f up your paint no matter where you put them.I had one on the back fender secured to the license plate and it scuffed up the paint back there pretty bad too.I think about the best thing to do with them besides not use one is to mount it to the bottom triple that way they can only scuff up aluminum that can be polished back out.Or forget about the paint and just leave it there.

I had mine hanging in front of the front motor mount for awhile secured to the frame. No damage to anything, it just get allot of crap kicked up at it.

I can see this happening. Especially mounted to black risers. Maybe just use some clear tape on the risers this way it wont rub the paint. I am assuming eventualy it will wear the tape though.
