Well my inner Primary Bearing started making noise and I dreaded the fight with HD. Went and talked to local dealer and they had not heard of the good will gesture from harley, but did say if I could get a reference number we could go from there. Called HD customer service today and got a service Rep. as soon as it rang. Explained what was going on and she said they are aware of the problem and would not say they would pay for it but evaluate on a case by case basis. I cannot afford the repair so hoping once they dig in and find it is the primary bearing they will pay for it under the good will gesture. Thanks to this forum for all the info.

Well, got a call today from the dealer. HD is going to cover the cost of replacing my Inner Primary Bearing. Thanks so much for all the great info on this site. They also waved the 100$ administration fee, as the tranny main bearing went out while under warranty.

Congratulations, you won Round One! Make sure you document everything very thoroughly in case you need to go to Round Two - replacing second failed IPB and inner primary and trans cases with alignment dowels.
