i got another question for you guys...lol i am looking at getting a smoked taillight. i have pretty much narrowed it down to two different ones. the first one is the kuryakyn low profile smoked led taillight http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/produc...uId=211156&mmy=
they are both supposed to just be "plug and play" anyone running either of these? if so do you like it? which do you guys think would look better on a vivid black lowrider?
honestly... pull your stock off, get some VTH spray tint. and shoot it, then clear... will look great and you can polish it out, i do it on car tails all the time did it on my old turn sigs and tail for the HD as well
cost ya $15 bucks for the tint and the clear at any auto parts store
i have read were some guys have done that, but i think they were tinting the inside? so i am a little confused if that is what you are supposed to do. i would think tint the outside?
I got the same Drag Specialties one from the dealer for about $1 more than the price in the link. Easy to install and works fine. I think the low profile would look better, but not $100 better. Good idea about tinting the factory one, but for $10 more than Joe's paint quote, it saved a lot of time to just unscrew the factory one and screw on the replacement.
I love the smoked lens, but I would never trade the one I got from Bright ***, the smoked, lay-down kind, the BAL3-ST. If your're interested, read these posts:
I've got the Kuryakyn version on my vivid black Low Rider. I painted the inside, up to the circuit board, flat black per the instructions of another forum member. This gives a glossy look on the outside. Then I used black silicone to seal around the whole edge of the board, which keeps the light to the rear. Looks great IMO. And the low profile flows nice with the fender.
I had the low profile kury one on my other dyna for two years - no issues whatsoever. No burnt out leds, fit perfectly, etc. Best of all I bought it off ebay for $40. You wont be disappointed....
