Aerostich has a handlebar clip on that is pretty cool. About $17.00 and good for a few years. I like seeing an analog clock face, but I just use the digital factory one now to clean up the bars.
I just put a Marlin's on my handlebars. I proudly haven't worn a watch since I retired a few years ago, but there are times when it's good to know if you're running late or not...
I like the cheap dollar store watch idea! My Dakota Digital speedo/tach has a clock, but I'd rather not click through the settings just to see what time it is. I did mount a thermometer, similar to the clocks mentioned above, low down on my windshield and could have mounted a similar clock on the other side, unobtrusive, but still there to look at if I want.
I mainly just use my wrist watch, I might have to peel back some clothing to see it, but I just flip the lever on my $20 "cruise control" and take a peek.
I already had the Marlin stem mount clock, but if you turn off the performance menu on your Dakota it's faster to scroll through the remaining functions.

Thanks for the tip! I'm not really up on my Dakota's features, but I don't think I have it set on a performance menu....Something I'll definitely look into.
My Dakota digital is just mounted in a non-factory place that only allows me to awkwardly reach with my right (throttle) hand while riding, and scrolling through the default menu alone takes my eyes and hand too long to do. That's why a simple clock, like your Marlin or a cheap dollar store watch sounds like a good idea.
By the way, I love my Marlin temp gauge, so I expect their clocks to be of the same quality.
